Regulatory Request
Problem: A large financial institution had been requested by a federal regulatory agency to provide specific historical e-mails between certain individuals. On a late Friday afternoon Procedo received 25 Microsoft Exchange E-Mail backup tapes.
Solution and Results: Procedo recovered the data and searched for a list of key words for 20 users with the results provided to the client on a DVD on Monday morning at 8 AM, less than 3 days from the receipt of tapes. The client sent the required information to the regulatory agency, resulting in no fines being assessed.
Litigation
Problem: One of North America's top 20 Broker Dealers required 160 backup tapes to be recovered for litigation purposes. The backup tapes consisted of Network file servers containing standard Office and e-mail documents. The tapes needed to be searched for specific individuals and key-words relating to political campaign contributions. Most of Procedo's competitors quoted an eight week turnaround to complete the project.
Solution and Results: Procedo’s Litigation Support solution provided the capability to produce the data in 3 weeks for fifty percent less than what competitors had quoted.
Recovering Email Messages
Problem: A large financial services firm was required to maintain all of their e-mail messages for a period of three years. Due to a hardware failure, the company lost 124,000 e-mail messages from their archive. Due to regulatory requirements the client had to do everything in their power to attempt to recover the 124,000 email messages that had been lost in the email archives.
Solution and Results: Procedo consulting services assisted in the process to identify the missing messages. Procedo then recovered over 550 Exchange backup tapes with over 650 Million e-mail messages which were de-duplicated to 55 million messages. Procedo then performed 124,000 unique searches on the recovered 55 million messages to locate the missing e-mails.
Complete E-Mail Archive
Problem: The world's largest specialized staffing firm had continued requests from their IT department to recover e-mail messages from existing and former employees for litigation purposes.
Solution and Results: Procedo restored over 1000 backup tapes consisting of both .PST files and Exchange server backups. Over 1.2 billion e-mail messages were recovered and de-duplicated to less than 100 million. These messages were then imported into a Symantec Enterprise Vault e-mail archival system. Procedo delivered a complete solution to the customer that was available immediately for their e-discovery needs. This solution saves the customer hundreds of thousands of dollars a year by not having to recover e-mails on a case by case basis.
